One more thing, spinning-

Buy a Hunter and no other. In my experience, all of the brands are quiet and work great when you first install them. Within a few months, many of the other brands start to make weird noises as the inferior bearings they use start to go out of tolerance.

So far, only Hunter fans have stood the test of time for me, and they have a good reputation in the industry as a whole. Like someone else mentioned, if you get the "original", it will require some occasional oil. However, all the other Hunter models do not require oiling.
