If you mean because you will be retired and generating minimum income, then I understand. If it's from living overseas, then I don't. US citizens are subject to income taxes regardless of where they live or where they earn income.

I am not a US citizen nor is my DH. We will neither be US citizens nor long-term permanent aliens when we depart. We discussed the the expatriation tax a bit in a lengthy thread on US immigration on the REHP. Here is the link if it interests you.
