It so much depends on your life expectancy that I don't know what to say without knowing more. 64 or even 66 is young for many of my relatives, yet many of my friends have died in their 50s or even earlier. If you think you will die soon, absolutely go ahead and start collecting. If you are healthy and think you will live a long time, it is better to tough it out and collect your full Social Security payment. As I am not a psychic, I am not sure how to tell you which choice is best for you. I am in a weird position where I know no one who dies in their 80s -- you die in your 50s or you die in your 100s -- slight exaggeration but you get the drift -- it is hard to predict the future.
