Thanks for all the info. My mother-in-law's opinion was that if she were to rent from us, she could reduce the size of her estate in the event that her husband does go on Medicaid. You're right, I should probably pony up and get an attorney.

I hope they wouldn't be miserable living near us. That is one thing I'm worried about. I know they don't like their current home or town.
