Subject:  Changes in Series EE to HH Savings Bonds Date:  7/27/2004  6:21 PM

I recently attended a seminar on the new ruling about Series HH Savings bonds. I have several hundred Series EE savings bond that I am not sure what to do with due to the changes with the Series HH. I had planned to roll them over to HH bonds upon maturity, but that no longer seems like an option. None of them are close to maturing unfortunately.

One option is to consider cashing a few of them every year and then reinvesting the proceeds. I also heard that I might be able to convert the EEs to HHs before the end of August. To do that would be a monumental task as I have so many EE bonds, but it might be worth it in the long run.

Does anyone know if my EEs can be converted to HHs by the end of August 2004 and if so, can I just attach a spread sheet with my bond data to the form? Please advise. Thanks
