The interst they have been spending on the credit cards may have been the most valuable spending they made --- beacause it effectively deterred them for yet more spending. Why mess with success? Very interesting point. FYI... Pops sent in the loan applications already, which I really wish he didnt do. I'm not going to rant but patience is a virtue he does not possess. So now the topic switches to: Where to put this new money when it arrives in about 2 weeks? Which cards to pay off, pay off as many as possible, or spread the 30K out over all of them? Credit reports have been orderd and I have a feeling will decide whether or not the accounts get closed or remain open (with the lower/$0 balances).
