My wife and I live on about $1600-$1800 per month. By far our largest monthly expenditure is housing which is about 40% of that. Without a housing expense, we would spend around $1000 per month total for the both of us. If you are thinking about retiring early, you may be able to cut some expenses and aggressively pay down your debts and/or invest for retirement.
