Thanks for the reply. I had been leaning toward letting the withholding be the same. It should be fairly easy on the pocketbook to catch up once she has a full time position. Also, since it will be difficult to gauge how much income we can put into 401Ks or 403B until the numbers firm up, then we might as well wait.

She's definitely not interested in being self-employed, but would like to join a primary care practice. She's also considering other options which would make her an employee.
