Those are good... not knowing what type of conversations you have had with him over the years, I might suggest: funny adult or personal stories/anecdotes he never would have told you when you were growing up; family history; take a trip while he can manage it; war stories (if he was caught up in WW2 or Korea); play games....

Just ideas. I'm sure you've got it... tough thing and a long road.
