A standard fare at hamburger stands in small towns is a fried pork loin sandwich.
You slice up a pork loin, pound it down flat, dip it in egg and flour, and fry it up! Delicious!
I remember those.
(I lived in Iowa for a year.)
The loin was about twice the diameter of the bun.
To be properly served:
On white bread bun
With French Fries
With gravy on bun & fries
Let's not even get into breakfast
