I have become really rude in my old age to anyone hawking anything I didn't solicit. I hang up on people a lot and I have caller id to avoid most of those calls. I rip those cc checks into tiny pieces and fortunately I haven't try to talk me into the insurance after my initial "no thank you." But I have a really funny story. I was visiting my aunt and uncle and the phone rang. My uncle answered. I could only hear his side of the conversation: "Sure, tell me about it. OK, yes, that sounds fantastic, yes I am interested. Yes, I have extra money I would like to invest. Uh huh. Uh huh. Fantastic. Wow, that's great! I can't wait to invest. Sure, I have $10.00. No TEN DOLLARS. Yes, t-e-n d-o-l-l-a-r-s. Oh really? I need more than that? OK, thanks anyway." I was dying laughing. I don't have the patience to do that. |
