I 100% am in agreement with the notion that sarcasm has nothing at all to do with humor.
It has been mistaken by default in this culture as what humor is to be. & quite sadly so since it tends to almost always be at the expense of a persons inner dignity.
In all my years in the clinic as a cognitive behavioral scientist, iv'e watched this trend build.
In treatment, there has been some success in shifting this choice somewhat & almost to the person, I have been contacted years later in thankfulness that we worked at eliminating this form.
Dry wit that is understated, for me, has been a pretty fair vehicle of inclusive humor at nobodies expense.
