That's the thing. It's not the people. It's the whole flawed concept that the economy can be centrally planned and controlled. Unfortunately, people who buy into this flawed concept are naturally drawn to politics. I suspect that this is how it will always be. Well, apparently they were trying to control it for the benefit of their wealthy friends. You know, the guys out in the private sector who believed that they were the only people government should serve, the capitalists who seem to think that the function of government is to increase their own capital at the expense of everyone else. There was a time when people from the upper classes went into government because they felt a duty to serve their country. Apparently now they feel a duty to serve only themselves. Churchy |
