Mahalo nui loa (Hawaiian for thank you very much) for responding to my post and generously sharing your knowledge and expertise. At the outset of my DD, I started with the board's FAQs which saved me a lot of time and effort and is one of the best at the MF, thanks to you.
Since last summer, I have been parking my cash in 6-month term, Money Market Certificates at monthly intervals (a CD ladder). My credit union, Navy Federal, has been offering these 6-month term specials, $10,000 minimum, with the latest offering at 4.00% APY. I'm still doing my homework on stocks, bonds and fixed-income investments and look forward to employing your TIPS vs. Treasuries vs. CDs advice.
