My wife and I are both 69, with no kids. We have a about $450,000 in Traditional IRAs. Does it make sense to convert now, in 2010, or never?

Depending on what your other income is, you may want to gradually convert as much as will not move you into the next higher tax bracket, rather than converting all $450k at once. If, for some reason, you want to convert all at once, do you have the $150k or so outside of the Traditional IRA account to pay for the taxes? If not, converting the entire amount at once is likely a 'never' answer.
