<<Democrats just HATE these tax cutting initiatives.
As in OR. Since I've lived here, the voters rejected a tax hike that was put on the ballot by initiative. The legislature went ahead and passed a tax hike a few months later anyway, signed by a governor who ran on a platform that included "no new taxes." It didn't take long for another initiative to repeal those tax hikes to be approved.
I guess that's the difference between Oregon and Washington. A few years ago, voters passed an initiative that contained substantial tax cuts that Democrats HATED. The state supreme court came to their rescue and rules the initiative to be unconstitutional.
DEespite that, Democrats and Republicans both united in the legislature to AGAIN pass those tax cuts into law, and the Dem governor signed the bill cutting taxes.
