My father made much the same kind of remark, recalling that his other cruising experience was aboard an LST with 1200 people aboard on the way to the Tarawa invasion during WWII.
Wow! Falkland Islands --- a lot of history there going back a few centuries. Cape Horn --- ditto. How was your weather and seas for that passage?
