Ah sorry, I haven't seen your more recent post yet - I came across this one through a google search. Definitely check out the tool - I used the example from the GLD tax document (http://www.spdrgoldshares.com/media/GLD/file/SPDR-Gold-Trust...) (page 11-12 - Shareholder XYZ purchases 200 GLD shares on 1/30/2009 .... ) and for 2009 the cost basis tool came up with sales proceeds of 67.20 and a cost basis of 63.38. In the example in the pdf, they have a cost basis of 63.37, so there must be a slight rounding issue somewhere in the tools calculations, but in any case it was just off by a penny over the entire year... good enough for me. :)
