This year, I expect to sell my primary residence.

I have incurred legal expenses related to the sale.

Please confirm my understanding that these expenses will serve to increase my cost basis in the home and are not deductible from regular income.

Also, I need to research the overall tax implications, is the Tax Pub for this readable by the average taxpayer, or should I consult a Dummies book?
