Washington State recently adopted laws that allow people to collect punitive damages should an insurance company willfully and arbitrarily refuse to pay benefits o0wed under an insurance policy.

That won't protect people from arbitrary rules that allow them to omit important drugs or treatments from coverage. Also won't protect them from the favorite scam of insurance companies, the stall. They don't refuse expensive coverage, they simply don't approve it either. If they stall long enough, some claimants will die and eliminate the need for coverage.
