However, when the Washington State Legislature found it inconvenient to continue to subsidize it's Basic Health Care insurance plan, it arbitrarily terminated 30,000 people from coverage.
As part of necessary steps to address the state's deficit of $1.1 billion through the end of FY 2011, Members of the Legislature cut approximately $588 million of which $27.7 million comes from Basic Health.
Budget cuts are hardly arbitrary. The legislature gives manufacturers a tax break and cuts health care. Have you even looked at a sales tax form lately to see all the exempt items?
But we can't have Boeing or Microsoft paying sales tax, we need to raise the sales tax on candy instead. Idiots.
