Much information is missing.
Is the couple in good health? If so, one or both may live a long time. Too conservative a portfolio, and inflation will eat you alive.
Size of the portfolio. With relatively conservative investements (high quality bonds, perhaps municipal GOs of your state), is there enough income to pay daily expenses? Is the purpose of the portfolio to provide income, or is it intended as a legacy for your children or grandchildren?
Sophistication of the people. Do you plan to make changes as appropriate, at least every 6 months or a year?
Risk tolerance. Did you panic at the turmoil in the markets this past month?
So there are more important factors than those given.
Best wishes, Chris
