What is your goal here? Current income? Or parking cash with low(ish) risk but with better returns than FDIC accounts?

I went thru this exercise not too long ago (with the latter goal), and decided that I should go for short-ish duration for the lower risk when/if rates start to rise. Tough to say how much that matters, since I plan to move the money into stocks when the market turns around. Question is: will rates jump first (if so, I'll lose money in the fund) or will the market jump first (if so, I'll be out of the fund).

With all the news, I'm scared of muni's. To me, there's too many unknowns so it's difficult to know how much risk is there. Certainly, more risk than Treasuries, though.

I eventually decided to use SCHR to park my money.
