The pre-trial meeting is most likely an attempt by the court to get the parties to settle and get the case off the calendar. DD might want to consider if there is a dollar amount that she would be willing to pay to make this nuisance go away. If there is a settlement, make sure she gets in writing that the debt collector will remove any unpaid debt or collections from her account so that her credit history is restored to its previous status. If no settlement and the case is decided in her favor, DD should request the same be included in the judge's order. If she loses, it won't matter.
