You don't mention who administers the 457(b) but my experience with these is not good. Typically, they carry very high fees that usually consume most of the earnings and in down years, your principal. Often, these fees and expenses are hard to detect. If this 457 is like most, my first priority would be to get those dollars into your IRA and then do your asset allocation.
