Prophesy isn't tough because as every capable religious leader knows, you never have to account for its failure. You can always explain away the past to people stupid enough to believe you in the first place. Prophesy relies on fantastical imagery, there's no place for reason and logic.

Obama hasn't been able to achieve his agenda because the brave Tea Party Saints led by his holiness Paul Ryan have held off Obama's agenda in Congress. But Obama is gathering his power (imagine him soaking up dark swirling clouds of energy) and soon even Holy Ryan won't be able to stop him. Our only hope is to vote him out while the wheels of democracy, lovingly crafted by our Founding Fathers, still turn.

So you can explain whatever you like about how their prophesy failed, and they'll still look at you with their stupid sheep eyes and say "but that's not how I feel". Any prophesy that validates those feelings is never wrong, and never was, amen.
