I'm running 10.6.8 on a Mac Pro. I get confusing info from the Apple forum about how iTunes Library works.
One response: On a Mac the database is normally called iTunes Library, on a PC it is iTunes Library.itl.
Another response: iTunes uses the iTunes library.itl file.
Is it just me, or do these statements contradict each other? If so, which is correct?
Reason I ask is that all my Playlists disappeared suddenly and I am seeking to restore them. I need to understand which Library file to restore. Playlists are said to reside in the iTunes Library file [but which one?]
