Of course, she could have been hired by Dow Corning in order to make sure that Dow Corning paid out the maximum amount possible to the consumers.
I doubt very much that Dow Corning hired her to work on a specific case. Like any large corporation, they have a lot of legal matters on their plate, and it's just silly to assume that a particular lawyer has been assigned to a particular case. But you knew that, and you went ahead and made the assumption anyway.
Give it up, man, there is no story here.
