"I'm ready to forget the family drama, and bury myself in other, more cheerful, activities, but I'll go to the funeral as the family peacemaker, and then perhaps I'll be done with family drama for a while."
The thing about family drama is that the dramatis personae are
just people who are just as confused and lost as everyone else.
Fathers do not of necessity know best.
Mothers do not always raise, nurture and love unconditionally
or without fsvorites.
The extended family has wants and needs that sometimes exclude.
Experience does not always teach.
Paths taken in error are not always marked "Danger - Thin Ice!"
but in fact are frequently trod deeply as routine passage.
And we all want and need and learning is so hard.
Mistakes are so easy.
But dramas and traumas do end.
We do have choice in how we behave - how we respond.
So as you wish for his peaceful rest - and family members
deal as they can - may you also rest and find peace.
May the grace of God be with you.
Love and good wishes are yours.
