Wall Street Journal has article today that Texas is trying to achieve a college degree program for $10K (total for all four years).

It's a smaller problem but the price of text books is outright highway robbery. I have paid as much as $150 for a paper bound workbook style text book that probably cost about $10 to actually print. When we complain asking why publishers charge so much for these books, the answer we get is that the publisher knows we must have the book for the class and "because they can."
