Medicare will pay for a short time in a nursing home/rehabilitation center.
Unless things have gotten much more liberal than when I cared (I doubt it), this is only for rehab after a hospital admission, and only until semi-weekly evaluations indicate enough progress that you don't need it or not enough progress to benefit from it, at which point they boot you. Medicare pays nothing for long-term care.
maybe not even that.
i was in hospital last year, they said i would have to leave but need rehab,
BUT that since Medicare wouldn't pay, i should try to get admitted to VA
