I am becoming more and more fond of going over the fiscal cliff. As I see it, the biggest threat to the US is that we never really do anything. I think this is one of those rare moments when inaction and gridlock will produce a good effect (serious deficit reduction). Yes, we will probably go into a recession in the short run. But the logjam will have been dynamited and our political minds will be freed up. Peter |
