I am becoming more and more fond of going over the fiscal cliff.
I saw the end-game when this was designed as the 'temporary solution' to the prior debt-ceiling negotiations.
Everyone with a brain knows that the fiscal status quo is unsustainable, but nobody can stay in popularity (keep their elected job) by playing the adult. By using this tactic both sides get to say its the other guys' fault that;
A) taxes are getting jacked up (the right bleeds,)
B) spending is getting muted. (the left bleeds.)
As judges like to say; the best outcome is equal misery.
Its just too bad the "cliff" wasn't 4 times as strong, and designed to prevent reversion to our old sugary habits.
