A few days ago I posted on Ozone shocks, which quickly became a DIY on replacing side mirrors on cars. In it I defended my choice to bring my car in to a professional: The one thing I've learned with DIY, is that it is seldom as easy as people tell you.

Sure enough, just got the new mirror on. The panel one simply "pops" out to expose the screws was not so obliging, and my pro had to remove the whole door panel to access it. Easy enough for him with the knowledge and the right tools, but I probably wouldn't have even known enough to stop when the smaller panel wouldn't not yield easily. He replaced it properly, and perhaps if this ever happens to me again I might try it, but I am sure glad I didn't do it this time!

Besides, he bought an ad for the ad book for band. Great local exposure for him, $50 to the band to help defray costs.
