I'm an undissertated doctor in physics.

I've never heard anyone use this phrase. It does make me wonder. The usual phrase is ABD - "all but dissertation". There is even a degree awarded by some schools - MPhil, standing for Masters of Philosophy.

arrete - "undissertated in economics"

I thought it was odd too, but I let it go. Whether he is "dissertated" or not makes no difference. He could have a Nobel Prize in Economics, and it wouldn't change the fact that his reasoning still leaves a lot to be desired.
