AOLF shares, "Here's the famous Hog on display at the Texas State Fair here in Dallas. I saw it about 4 years ago....walked right up to it. It was huge. The sign there claimed the hog was over 1,100 lbs. It's definitely very big, but I find it hard to believe it's that heavy. I'd say more like 700-800 lbs.WARNING: For the ladies out there.....do not look at its backside....he's very "well endowed." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6cA3xZB3de4
As an aside old boars like that have a very strong odor that taints the meat and that is why they castrate boar pigs when they are very young. The only thing old boars are good for is grinding up into sausage and then they can only put a certain percentage of boar meat into sausage or otherwise the boar odor will be overpowering.
I think the chemical that gives them that strong smell is called androstenone or something like that? Anyway it's pretty foul smelling.
