You define "works" very oddly.


But here in the US, we just want to make sure that our CEO pay averages 9x that of his workers

We don't "make sure" the CEOs get anything. The BOD buys the services of the CEO. If the board didn't like it, they'd change the compensation rules. These are private contracts that have nothing to do with taxpayer money.

I think you earn too much. I think you should take a pay cut and give it to the poor.


So many people want to complain about the problem, but no one wants to do anything about it. When someone tries to do something, they're villified, but no one seems to have a better idea. Except for what we already knows works elsewhere, but no sirreee, we can't have that.

Er, no. Market based solutions have been presented many times. But you are right, when free marketers offer solutions they do indeed get vilified. We agree on that.
