Problem now is how to uninstall the existing IE 9.

If it's in the same place as Win 7, click Start, select Control panel, select Uninstall or Change a Program.

In the window, click on Turn Windows Features on or off.

In that list you'll find Internet Exploder 9. Clear the check box to remove it. I would expect a reboot would be necessary. (I don't know for sure, as I'm leaving it alone on my computer.)
