"Pfft, Camp Munhacke doesn't even have running water to most of the bathrooms, they're outhouses! The campground we walked through during the 5 mile hike didn't have electricty, the bathroom was an outhouse and water was supplied from a hand-operated pump!
Sleeping bags would be the least of their problems there, lol!
/No problem roughing it. The worst part would be no electricity, but it would be so much fun that I wouldn't notice I'm sure."
This reminded me of our "Buffalo Soldiers" campout in the late 90s when I lived by San Antonio.
Car Dealer sponsored us taking local kids out to Ft. McKavett near Junction for an overnight campout in a realistic setting. Same period buildings, old cots, albeit with some water.
State Park, Federales won't support this Nationally historic site.
Sense of the surroundings and imparting some knowledge of real history.
We also placed wreaths in the San Antonio National Cemetery, on Buffalo Soldiers' graves on the Day.
