We are mid 60s in good health, have a working ranch that is paid for, has an incoming producing herd of cattle. It has 2 barns and 2 houses. We don't live there yet so it requires a manager and a hired hand. It does produce our food. So far it has been a pretty good tax write-off We have about $200,000 in mutual funds and stocks. I have, in a safe deposit box, gold coins, worth about $150,000. I also have a sizable real estate holding that i have on the market for $1,500,000. It is paid for but as we know the market is still very slow. My husband is a well paid consultant and would like to retire in about 3 years. I recently invested in all three MF funds, $5,000 each and $1500 in BAnk of America. |
