I must be a horrible pessimist after years of disappointment and frustration...
As I was reading this all I could think of was the potential for crushing disappointment and regret if it gets lost or damaged... or the little twangs of those feelings as you use a product which you had idolized and start to realize that it isn't quite as great as you hoped... or the potential for anger and frustration when "the rules" get in the way of using the product (always an issue for me as a little kid...)
It's probably why these days I buy used cars--someone else already scratched and dinged them... and why I generally have relatively low expectations of what a product will, or how long it will last, vs. what the manufacturer claims...
All that negative stuff said, I have yet to be disappointed with either my original iPhone 3GS, or now my iPhone 4 :)
