I remember when most components were silver! And most speakers were "wood grain" (though I think they were laminated particle board). When the gold Pioneer SX-6 came out, it was just so cool! Yes, I had one (along with the CT-5 cassette deck). In fact, I still have them.

But somehow going to black Yamaha felt like growing up. No longer was it "hip" or "cool". This was not a toy. This was serious equipment.

Presently running a V1900 black. BluRay is black. Studio Monitor speakers are black. Old turntable is silver.
