Good, but not great. The Lions went 6-3-1 to finish second in the conference. The Tigers finished one game behind the Browns for the AL pennant. Hal Newhouser won the first of his two AL MVP awards, finishing up with 29 wins and .1 runs away from an ERA title and the Pitching Triple Crown. The Red Wings finished second as well and lost the Stanley Cup to Toronto 4 games to 3. Somebody's itching to know how thing went for the Cowboys back then. |
