One FT job became two PT jobs. The person who formerly held a low paying 40 hour a week job now had to find a second PT job to make up for what was lost. Usually, this involved taking public transit which increased the commuting expense, but meant more time away from home piecing together FT hours.
The person still didn't have health insurance, and now had the hassle/expense of working two PT jobs. but since it was all done in the name of compassion, it was all good.
And the press helped convince the citizens that greedy businessmen were the problem, slashing their wages and that the only way out was protection by liberals who really meant to help before they were thwarted by mean businesses and Republicans.
THis is the end result of folks being nice to liberals because they mean well. They are deceitful liars, there is not any way to know what they mean. Rate them by their results and do so relentlessly.
