Unsurprising this argument about feral cats is

...but the flip side is that the better hunters also kill rats



Indeed, lest we forget while humans domesticated dogs, Cats were responsible for domesticating humans or at least allowed them to settle down as farmers instead of continuing the hunter gather thingy that was high risk and often hungry.

The earliest farmers who attempted to store food lost it all to rats, mice, birds and a host of others drawn to the piles of food. That is until the forest cats notice the target rich environment and moved in to establish a symbiotic relationship.
