According to scientists who conduct so-called "life cycle analysis" for solar, the transport of waste is not currently being factored into the carbon footprint score, which measures the amount of greenhouse gases produced when making a product.
Life cycle analysts add up all the global warming pollution that goes into making a certain product — from the mining needed for components to the exhaust from diesel trucks used to transport waste and materials. Not factoring the hazardous waste transport into solar's carbon footprint is an obvious oversight, analysts said.

Oversight my fanny. There is a political agenda here.

..I don't think they calculate any of that for the other forms of energy, either. Carbon to mine coal or uranium, carbon used to smelt the copper to make wiring to make generators, carbon to make the steel for wind turbine towers..

So why "a political agenda"? It's entirely consistent, not anywhere close to a double-standard.

I'd love to see the full-cycle analysis for each type of energy production, but I seriously doubt it's going to change the fact that solar has much lower carbon emissions than coal power. But hey, if it does change, it does. No need to get wed to a particular view.
