In the syllabus, the professor allegedly says, "The tagline Fox News makes me cringe."

Well, then, the student merely attributes content to some other publication. What's the prof going to do--check the veracity of the source?

What will the student do? Well they will get used to not using right wing sources, because you know if Fox is not popular there, well there are lots of sites that mean your grade will start with a C for perfection.

What will the non-informed student do? Assume that you can not trust Fox News and turn to MsNBC, you can bet a Racehl Maddow quote will start you at a B for getting your name right.

Will the student with no ideology coming in, ever trust Fox News?

This professor has no business teaching the subject she is teaching. She has no objectivity, she is doing her students a greater disservice than the teacher who dismisses evolution as impossible.
