In every case with rotten on-time performance, the problem has been the use of single track lines.


I believe that the one hour spent outside of Providence, RI was due to a single track. We had to wait all that time before we got cleared to move on. Very very frustrating.
Most of my experiences from NY Penn Sta. to Boston So. Sta. have not been all that great.
Also, on this past trip I kept checking the arrival times on my iphone and found that Amtrak was not giving the correct time. They said 20 minutes late when in fact we were 45 minutes late. Big difference.
