As for cruise ships, you can have 'em. For what a ride on one costs, we can have a wonderful vacation anywhere To each his own, but many offer cruises for abt $100/per person/per day. That includes a cabin, food, and entertainment. I think that compares very well with what you would pay for a hotel room in a major city or a resort and meals and entertainment. Of course they do an excellent job of convincing you the basic rate is not for you. You much have upgrades. And that is where they make their money. It's the same old story. The back of the plane gets there the same time as first class. On a ship, you all get the same food and the same entertainment. Accommodations vary. And sometimes higher rated travelers get extras like cocktails with the captain, or shorter lines. I especially like the idea that you can see a lot and your hotel room moves with you. No packing. Relaxed schedules. When the ship is in port, you can get off if you want to and see the sights or do some shopping. Or you can stay on board and relax. Your choice. |
