I have Amica in Massachusetts (where the rates used to be set by the state, but a few years ago they switched to a managed competition system, so now there is a slight difference in rates between carriers). It looks like they only set rates at policy renewal time, unless there is something that changes like adding a car, driver, etc. I got hit on the other end of this because my you fall into a cheaper rate class after being a driver after X year, and my X year anniversary was a month into a new policy. I had to wait 11 months until my policy renewed to get the cheaper rates. At least it worked the same way when I got a speeding ticket, I got to benefit from the lower rates until my policy renewed.
